Genuine strengths: a real human advisor who knows your family, accreditation, an accredited high-school diploma pathway if you continue past Grade 8, and decades of credibility. For families who want a knowledgeable person in their corner and formal accreditation, Clonlara earns its reputation.

The trade-offs: Clonlara currently lists new-student K–8 tuition at $1,460 plus a $210 first-student registration fee, and the advisor relationship, lovely as it is, means more process. You're paying, in part, for a human's time.

West River Academy: Best for Minimal-Fuss Unschoolers
