Records that travel

What Ivy Waters is

  • A Showcase Portfolio of real work

  • Capstone projects

At Grade 5 and Grade 8, something real your child designs, builds, and pitches.

  • IvyTracks

Capture learning in seconds, so proving what your child is learning is never a reconstruction job.

What enrollment includes

Everything has one job: make learning count.

Enrollment gives one learner one clear annual record. Everything below grows from the same parent-owned evidence, with the guardian deciding what belongs.

An official enrollment letter from day one

A clear enrollment record to present when someone asks about school, kept current while your child is enrolled.

An official transcript for each academic cycle

Subjects, parent-entered grades, and attendance organized from your child’s real learning.

A Showcase Portfolio

Your child’s work, projects, photos, and own words in a record that shows who they are.

Capture in seconds with IvyTracks

Log a sentence or photo while the learning is still fresh, with optional dictation when typing is inconvenient.

Your complete record in Parent Portal

See moments, milestone coverage, attendance, parent-entered grades, and everything ready for the transcript together.

Ivy Waters International Standards

Our own Pre-K through Grade 8 framework makes everyday evidence understandable without prescribing a curriculum.

Capstone projects

Skills for what is next, not what is tested.

At the end of Grade 5, and again at the end of Grade 8, every learner can take on a Capstone: something real they design, build, and pitch. Not a test, and not a worksheet. A genuine problem they identified, and an honest plan to do something about it.

Grade 5

A first real idea

Often a small business or product: costs, pricing, and a profit margin worked out by hand. A child might run a bracelet stall and find out what it actually takes to make two dollars.

Grade 8

Something with scope

A systemic or social-enterprise problem with a real plan for how it would keep going. A neighborhood book swap at ten can become a reading program run with other families at fourteen.

Either year

Built and defended

The project is presented and followed by real questions from a real audience. A business, a community project, or both at once. There is no single correct answer we are looking for.

Complete one and your child's record carries a Capstone Distinction notation, visible to anyone verifying it.

Every family decides whether a Capstone is right for their child that year. Choosing not to take part never affects a transcript, portfolio, or progress, and there is no extra cost either way: it is part of standard enrollment. For the families who do take part, it tends to become the thing their child remembers most.

How the Capstone works

Crossing borders?

Keep a clear enrollment record ready to present when someone asks about school.

Might return to school someday?

A coherent transcript gives placement conversations a documented starting point. The receiving school makes the final decision.

A child who learns differently?

Subjects can move at different paces without forcing the whole child into one grade-level timeline.

A calmer way to keep school

Start with life as it is.

The record grows through small, honest deposits. It follows the learner you have, without turning family life into a compliance performance.

Start with today.

Capture three moments, not three lessons. No quotas. No need to backfill. Start with today.

Let subjects move differently.

A child can race ahead here and build confidence there. The record keeps that honest shape instead of flattening it.

Keep it before you classify it.

A moment needs no standard attached to belong. Alignment is optional, and the original evidence remains the source.

Our published standards

A school with standards of its own.

The Ivy Waters International Standards are ours: written, published, and citable. Ages 3–14 · 138 standards across 10 stages, anchored to ages rather than to any one country’s school system, so a family that moves keeps a record that still means something.

Permanent identifiers

Every standard has its own address that never changes, so a reviewer, a tutor, or a future school can look up the exact thing your child met.

Met in everyday life

Each one is written to you, not to a committee, and paired with what it looks like in a real afternoon: market arithmetic, a tide pool, a letter to a grandparent.

Open to read and cite

Downloadable Benchmark Guides for families, and a machine-readable release schools, registrars, and tools can map their own records against.

The Live-Log-Align Method

A keepsake that happens to be a transcript.

Real learning should not disappear because it happened away from a worksheet. Ivy Waters turns the moments your family already values into evidence you can revisit, understand, and use.

  1. 01

    Live.

Learn your way: at the kitchen table, in a museum, at a market, or halfway around the world.

  2. 02

    Log.

Capture the moment in about ten seconds with a line of text, a photo, or dictated text.

  3. 03

    Align.

Ivy Waters suggests the milestone; you decide whether it belongs. Or keep the moment with no benchmark at all. The learning still counts.

“We needed enough cake for both twins, so we doubled every ingredient. When the batter looked wrong, we checked our numbers and fixed it.”

Evidence

Mom’s note, one flour-dusted kitchen photo, June 14.

Alignment

Multiplication, measurement & scaling (Math)

Mom chooses what counts. If she confirms the alignment, this kitchen Moment can support the child’s Math record over time.

One true thing, typeset into a record.

Tell us your child’s first name and one true thing they did today. We’ll typeset a keepsake record page with a date and seal in about ten seconds. No account needed to look.

Records built to be checked

Warm enough to keep. Clear enough to check.

The day someone asks you to prove the year, you should not have to argue for it. The family story and the formal record share one source but never blur together: keepsakes are visibly samples, and issued documents follow a separate records-office path.

Precise claims
Nothing in your child’s file overstates what it is, so nothing gets waved away. The enrollment letter confirms enrollment. The transcript carries the academic history. A registrar reading either one knows exactly what they are holding.
Traceable evidence
Every attendance day, grade, and subject entry traces back to a moment you logged and approved. Asked where a number came from, you can show the afternoon it came from.
Verification first
A reviewer can confirm the record without phoning you. Issued documents carry stable references, and a verification address is printed only once the record it points to is live.

Issued records carry stable references only after the underlying record is frozen and live.

IvyTracks

Where learning enters.

Capture a sentence or photo in about ten seconds, with optional dictation into editable text. Alignment helps connect the moment to real milestones, while your original evidence always remains the source.

The part you’ll keep

Years from now, this is the part you’ll return to.

The transcript answers the formal questions. The record underneath it holds the real treasure: their voice explaining tide pools, the market-day arithmetic, and the year of questions. It is a family archive designed to support a clear school record without replacing the moments that made it.

From Ivy Waters

The whole argument, in a book we give away.

On Track, Off Script is about the question that follows every family learning outside a classroom: how do you keep proof without turning the kitchen table into a school? It argues you never had to choose, and shows what a light, honest record makes possible.

Frequently asked questions

Who is Ivy Waters International for?

Ivy Waters serves homeschool, expat, and worldschooling families with children ages 3 to 14, from Pre-K to Grade 8. Parents remain in control of how, when, and where learning happens.

What will enrollment include?

When Enrollment opens, the annual offer will include an official enrollment letter from day one, an official transcript each academic cycle, and a Showcase Portfolio of your child’s real work. It will also include IvyTracks capture, the Parent Portal, and the Ivy Waters International Standards.

Is Ivy Waters a real school?

Yes. Ivy Waters International operates as a private school in Texas, run as a records-first education service for Pre-K to Grade 8 families. If you live outside Texas, your own state or country’s homeschool requirements still apply to your family. Our educational work stands on the independent Ivy Waters International Standards and parent-approved evidence.

Who grades my child?

Parents remain responsible for observing and assessing their child’s learning. Ivy Waters helps organize parent-approved evidence, attendance, and parent-entered assessments into a coherent school record. We do not silently invent grades from app activity or AI suggestions.

Do I have to change curriculum?

No. Use the curriculum, tutors, resources, and real-life experiences that suit your child. The Ivy Waters International Standards provide a consistent record reference around your approach without prescribing a route or pace.

Can I start for free?

Yes. The free Welcome Library opens soon. A free account does not enroll a learner and never converts automatically. Annual Enrollment will be 279 USD per student when it opens.

Does Ivy Waters replace local homeschool requirements?

No school can override the law where a family lives. Requirements vary by country and region, so families remain responsible for local registration, testing, evaluation, and acceptance rules that apply to them.

How is my child’s information used?

Ivy Waters uses family information to provide your records and learning experience. We do not sell personal information or use a child’s learning history for advertising profiles. Family-initiated sharing is deliberate and controlled by you.

How much does it cost, and is there a discount for more than one child?

Annual Enrollment will be 279 USD per student each year when it opens. Core digital enrollment and record services are included. The same annual rate applies to each enrolled student. There is no sibling discount. Additional document services are not included.

What happens after Grade 8?

Ivy Waters serves Pre-K through Grade 8 and does not issue high school diplomas. Families can export their record, including the evidence and portfolio material they have kept. Completed-cycle transcripts and other issued records follow the records-retention terms disclosed at enrollment. A receiving school or authority always makes its own placement and acceptance decisions.

When does enrollment open?

Enrollment opens soon. Join the founding families list to hear first; it carries no obligation.

Can I leave, and what happens to my child’s records?

You can stop a renewal at any time, and enrollment runs to the end of the term you paid for. Annual enrollment is not refundable, except where local law gives you a withdrawal right that cannot be waived. Before account closure, the Parent Portal offers a full family export of moments, photographs, notes, and portfolio material. Issued records are retained separately under the disclosed records-retention schedule so they can remain verifiable. Partial-cycle record handling will be confirmed in the enrollment and records policies.

How much time does this actually take?

There is no logging quota. Capturing a moment takes about ten seconds: a sentence, a photograph, or dictated text while the learning is still fresh. Families can record what is useful without turning everyday learning into a checklist.

Can I join partway through the school year?

The Enrollment model is designed to let families join partway through a cycle rather than wait for one universal school-year start. Records will begin from the Enrollment date within the family’s selected academic calendar. The Enrollment agreement will explain first-cycle and transcript handling.

Who else can see my child’s record?

There is no public directory, public child profile, or default visibility to other families. Guardians choose when to share records with someone such as a receiving school. Ivy Waters staff do not have routine access to a child’s learning record; any access needed for approved records work, a support request, or system protection is scoped to authorized staff and audited.
